Jonas Coatsworth

JONAS COATSWORTH
Therapist and Addictions Counselor

MA, LPC, CACII

One of the most important components in Jonas’s work is the quality of the therapeutic relationship. The foundation of this relationship is grounded in trust, genuineness, empathy, and understanding. Through his years of experience in inpatient and outpatient settings working with adolescents and adults dealing with various issues, he believes these aforementioned variables to be the catalyst for change within the therapeutic relationship. He is also active in session utilizing cognitive-behavioral interventions to identify, challenge, and modify self-defeating thought patterns and how they are connected to our feelings and behavior. Recognizing our place “in this world” and how it is connected to others is also a central theme in his therapy sessions.

His journey has led to experience working with various mental health issues (depression, anxiety, bipolar, and psychosis) in an inpatient, outpatient, and crisis stabilization modality. Jonas has extensive experience working with adolescents and adult populations dealing with issues related to substance use. Anger management, stress management, problem solving skills, and decision making processes have also been areas of interest for him and a part of his work background.
